coronavirus outbreak: Coronavirus cases in Telangana reach 59
With a massive surge in the number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, India enters day four of the 21-day nationwide lockdown enforced by the central government to soften the blow of the Covid-19 pandemic in India. As of March 28, the total number of confirmed cases of the infection in India stands at 830, including 67 patients who were treated or discharged after testing positive and 20 who have reportedly succumbed to it. Across the globe, Covid-19 has claimed close to 27,000 lives, infecting over 586,000 people. While the United States of America (USA) is leading with the most number of confirmed cases, Italy has witnessed one-third of the total number of casualties.
14 new cases are registered in the Telangana state yesterday and the number of cases in the state reached 59. It is heard that the state enters into the dreaded stage 3 of the spread of the disease. Tests are conducted on the samples collected from the officials. Most of the infected have flown down from international countries. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced that the state is completely prepared to fight the virus. He said that they are ready to handle 60,000 positive cases simultaneously. KCR also said that he had a word with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he assured to help the state to fight against coronavirus. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao also said that 1400 beds are prepared at Gachibowli Stadium as a part of the Intensive Care Unit. Over 11,000 health care professionals are working in the state. The number of coronavirus cases in Andhra Pradesh has been 13 as of yesterday.
