Demands: Cancel hike fee, No curfew timings, No dress code
Entry and exit points of three Delhi Metro stations near Parliament have been shut down temporarily due to the ongoing JNU protest, authorities said on Monday. As advised by Delhi Police, trains are not halting at Udyog Bhawan and Patel Chowk. Exit/Entry gates for Udyog Bhawan, Patel Chowk and Central Secretariat have been closed temporarily.
Traffic in some parts of the Lutyens’ Delhi has been affected after the Jawaharlal Nehru University students. Thousands of JNU students, carrying placards and chanting slogans, marched towards Parliament on the first day of the Winter Session but were stopped by police near the Jor Bagh Metro Station.
At least 50 students have been detained by the police, including JNUSU President Aishe Ghosh, after the standoff between students and police. The students continued their march despite prohibitory orders were issued.
