Kairthabad Ganesh in Hyderabad to be 27 feet this year
The Kairthabad Ganesh Utsav Committee has decided to set up 27-feet Ganesh idol this year considering the COVID-19 pandemic. This year Ganesh festival is scheduled on August 22. This year Kairthabad Ganesh can be seen in the Dhanwantari model. No devotees will be allowed to have darshan of Lord Ganesh this year due to prevailing COVID-19 situation.
Lord Dhanwantari is known for delivering Ayurveda medicine to mankind and cured many alignments.
The idol will be 27-feet-tall and will be made of clay. The clay to prepare the idol is being brought from Gujarat and the idol will not be immersed in Hussainsagar this year. The idol will be immersed in the same place by performing Abhishekam.
Every year the committee has been increasing the size of the idol. Last year the Utsav Committee has installed 65-feet idol and was planning to install a 66-feet Vishwarupa idol with 18 faces, the COVID-19 plans upset their plans.
The Kairthabad Utsav Committee has been installing the idols since 1954 and the first idol was one foot in size.
